Antique telescoping mechanical pencil, circa late 19th to early 20th century, in solid 925 sterling silver, worn here as a pendant on a matching silver necklace. The cap is fitted with a fixed suspension loop — soldered directly into the silver — originally made for chatelaines, watch chains, and field tools.

The sterling body extends smoothly, locks securely when closed, and still holds its original lead. Marked “Sterling,” with the weight, touch, and honest construction that define older silver.
